Mother of Pearl Plates

Known for its natural shimmering iridescence and sturdiness Mother of Pearl (Nacre) has been used for many centuries to embellish furniture and fashion items, from religious icons to simple cardigan buttons!

We hand select only the best pearl oyster and pearl mussel shells to feature in our tableware and gift collection. The silver or gold embellishment draws attention and focus to the decorative item but the shell itself is the star of the show.

All Objet Luxe shell plates are natural to show their beauty and easy to maintain, the shell itself is naturally food safe. Our handcrafted Mother of Pearl pieces are a simple yet stylish way to serve caviar. Also perfect for serving hors-d’oeuvres or as a catch-all for, say, jewellery on a dressing table or soaps in a bathroom.

Designed as a petite serving piece, each Mother of Pearl plate it looks equally at home on a vanity or bedside table. The gold or silver plate cast design details are inspired by nature and the ball feet ensure that it stands with perfect poise and balance.

To make our larger decorative items such as trays and boxes, we design to incorporate fragmented Peal Oyster shells, these are painstakingly pieced together by hand to create mosaic surfaces. Hence, we are retaining the beauty and strength of the shell itself in the design and saving shell which would otherwise been discarded.
