Art Deco inspired, the Hugo box is a combination of ebony veneers and coffee shagreen, with a plain ebony interiors.
Shagreen, often called galuchat or stingray, is a richly textured strong material which has been used for centuries as a decorative surface.
This luxurious and exotic material is most closely associated with the Art Deco period, when interior decorators such as Jean Michel Frank and Clement Rousseau use stingray skins to decorate furniture, lighting and create amazing wall panelling.
Shagreen does not require any special cleaning. To maintain the natural radiance of our shagreen pieces, we recommend gentle dusting with a soft brush and dry cloth. Please avoid contact with any wet or oily. Also avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.
