Jura Bowl Indigo Large
Jura Glass Indigo spherical bowl is inspired by the whirlpool which occurs on spring tides off the west coast of Scotland near the island of Jura. The gentle indigo frosted glass top reflects the huge winter sky, the deep and dramatic base colours reflect the ever changing colours and moods of the sea. It is handmade by artisans in a small coastal studio. The Jura bowl is available in five colours that represent mercurial qualities of the ocean: Crystal, Ice Blue, Ice Pink, Graphite and Indigo. Delicate pearls of glass swirl in a myriad of colours glistening on the surface of the bowl resulting in a flowing whirlpool appearance.
Hand blown in the UK. All Objet Luxe glass items are handmade and therefore sizes and colours can vary slightly.

Handblown Glass making
Glassblowing is a passion, it is all about timing. How long you heat, the time you have to shape the object before it hardens and knowing when to stop!
Our experienced studio glassblowers are known as Gaffers. They’re calm and focused and keep working. Even withstanding extremely high temperatures, they don’t lose concentration for a second and have a steady hand too.

Care
Glass
Objet Luxe Glass vases and pendant lights are handmade and blown in the traditional way. It will last for many years and retain its original beauty with the minimum amount of need to clean. We recommend occasional wiping of the surface with a damp (not soaked) soft clean cloth or cotton wool and then blot dry using soft paper towelling and leave to thoroughly air dry. Only clean one item at a time, remove jewellery and rings that could scratch the glass during the cleaning process and never use detergents. If your glass has any metal mounts, avoid getting water in crevices where it may cause corrosion. Silver mounts may have been lacquered to prevent tarnishing, so avoid using solvents when cleaning.
Make it special with
Personalisation
Whether you choose to add classic initials, a special message or a memorable date, you can create a truly individual gift for someone special. As individuals, we have been engraving, carving and decorating for thousands of years, to create something special. It was the European jewellery goldsmiths in middle ages, who developed the technique of engraving onto metalwork. Today the method and technique is essentially still the same.
