Koi Carp Large Bowl
Koi are a legendary fish. Graceful, vibrant, and one of the most recognisable fish in the world, often associated with Japan, koi actually originated from Central Asia in China. Over the years, koi carp have become iconic around the world.
In Japanese the word “koi” means “affection” or “love”, so Koi fish are symbols of love and friendship. Our inspiration to create this Koi fish bowl was to create a centre piece which is not only beautiful but also totally practical. Usually our influences are from the ocean but in this case we are trying to recreate the elegance and colours of these fabulous cold water fish.
This unique bowl comprising of two life like Koi Carp which have been handcrafted using coloured pearl oyster shell and silver plated brass sculptures. The bowl is shown in red but is also available in any colour of shell finish.
The Koi Carp Large Bowl not only looks fabulous but is also totally practical.
The Koi and the bowl are handmade from Coloured Oyster shell.
It is very practical because of its shape and size and perfect to use as party table centre piece. Please hand wash and dry the bowl because it is not dishwasher safe.
The bowl is a perfect object to transform any interior scheme or to give as a treasured gift.
It looks wonderful as a stand alone piece and also when featured to display other decorative items.
Objet Luxe also make free standing Koi which add interest to any table or interior decor scheme, these can also be made for fixing as a wall mounted artistic display of Koi.

Care
Glass
Objet Luxe Glass vases and pendant lights are handmade and blown in the traditional way. It will last for many years and retain its original beauty with the minimum amount of need to clean. We recommend occasional wiping of the surface with a damp (not soaked) soft clean cloth or cotton wool and then blot dry using soft paper towelling and leave to thoroughly air dry. Only clean one item at a time, remove jewellery and rings that could scratch the glass during the cleaning process and never use detergents. If your glass has any metal mounts, avoid getting water in crevices where it may cause corrosion. Silver mounts may have been lacquered to prevent tarnishing, so avoid using solvents when cleaning.
Silver
We silver plate onto solid brass and then lacquer to give a long lasting durable finish that protects against tarnishing and prevents over-polishing, this in turn maintains the original beauty of each item. You only need to lightly dust with a soft cloth and the item will remain an object of beauty.
Shell
All Objet Luxe shells and items made of shell mosaic are given a final production coat of lacquer which will protect it for a very long time. We recommend a gently dusting to care for all shell products. Be careful not to scratch the shell surface and do not use chemicals or abrasive cleaning agents. You only need to lightly dust with a soft cloth.
Make it special with
Personalisation
Whether you choose to add classic initials, a special message or a memorable date, you can create a truly individual gift for someone special. As individuals, we have been engraving, carving and decorating for thousands of years, to create something special. It was the European jewellery goldsmiths in middle ages, who developed the technique of engraving onto metalwork. Today the method and technique is essentially still the same.
